See you in a week.
Assalamu’alaikum andHi.
Since the break starts, I have only made little effort to update my blog. Shame on me. The break started off very well that I’ve spent the whole holidays up till now with my family members. I made very little effort as well in seeking for a part time job as I feel Ireally need this moment for the family before the semester starts again.
Though effort for blogging is very minimal, yet I think I made very huge attempt to finish reading the books which I bought months and years ago J. They have been waiting patiently for me on the shelves that dust has almost covered them.
Semester break means most of my collegue are at home that we get in touch by sms, instant messaging and calls. In one of the contacts that I’ve made, I remember I told a friend that I would want to share a story which I read in a magazine, which I happen to find under the piles of books while rearranging my room. The story is very much related to myself and my friends who are in the process of becoming a teacher. It’s a simple story yet very meaningful. Below I’ve included the story and..why don’t we read it together.
(Anis, April 2009,p. 17)
My first expression as I’ve done reading was, “ Wow! This is one great responsibility”. Not that I do not know my carreer will deal with children but this story proves to me that ever since before, history, teaching is a serious business. Being a teacher is not just about rushing to school at 7 a.m but its more than that. Its about ‘sculpturing’ a child into human. No matter what teaching course we are involved, yet the very core business of dealing with little ones is to shape their mind and inculcate moral values. Mind of the ‘ahli bijaksana’ and values which are ethical- akhlak para budiman.
This made me to wonder whether I’ve start taking my steps towards improving myself because in one year or less I will be the little onespublic figure, in school. Hmm..what about you? (refering to those who concerns) Am I fit to be a teacher? Am I fit to be standing in front of them? Some may say, “Ala..tu pun takut. Dengan budak kecik jee..”But have you ever wonder that every step, every word and every action done in front of them has its risk because “matanya menumpu kepada matamu.
So girls, see you in a week and let’s work things out. “Allah tak membebani seseorang melainkan dengan kemampuannya”. =)
InshaAllah we’ll be meeting each other again at a place where we first met, 5 years ago, when we were young and naïve. =)
