2+1

Assalamualaikum and Hi..

I had the chance to visit the twins last week (kenapa la excited with the twins? Because we never had one). Cute.Tiny. Adorable little babies. And I even had the chance to hold them. Erk…keeeecciikkk sangat that I had to be very careful. One is a girl and another is a boy.

And interestingly, when I called Mama yesterday, she informed me that another aunty of mine has also delivered her baby. Waaaa…3 newborns in a week. Bertambah ahli keluarga Cikgu Aris. Nenek surely be busy looking after her girls(my aunts) and the babies. Below are pictures of the very very new born babies. Charmers! hehe.

Usik Mama

Assalamualaikum and Hi!

I went back to Perak last Friday with Mama, Abah and A’fwa. Only the 4 of us, rasa macam keluarga kecik pulak bila semua orang dah tak balik kampung sama-sama. Huhu.

“Maaa, listen to this..” I said, when Mama was driving.

Your determination to be a shopaholic (or not) is a direct reflection of your mother’s determination to be frugal..haha” I quoted a sentence from a magazine, which I just bought after we had breakfast in Kuala Selangor.

“I’m not a shopOholic..It’s just that I NEEEED to shop sometime.” Mama instantly replied.

“Haha..Dila bace jeeeEEEee~. …Like I said before, this shopping thing is a disease. Penyakit keturunan..Mama mesti dapat daripada nenek, kan? Nenek pun kalau shopping boleh tahan! Hahaha…” I was trying to tease Mama.

“ Mama bukan shop-O-holic..ape? ape namenye?? mama beli benda yang patut” replied Mama.

“Sama la kiteeeee. Dila pun beli yang patut. Hehe. I repeat..a reflection of your mother. Hahaha…” with a laugh which always make one feel like giving me a hit on the face. Hehe.

Saje usik Mama. Bile lagiiii..?

Hmm. They say it is impossible to ignore the genes of parents, which is why sometimes when we look in the mirror we see faces of our parents (though we don’t look alike).

Love you Ma. And Abah too, of course.

No matter how wrong our parents are, they are still our parents. Treat them with most respect. They are not always right. But they are doing their best, always, for their children. Their hearts are fragile that with an ‘uh’ we might break them. Thus, speak to them softly. (Al-Isra’: 23-24) =)

After quite sometime I was not able to get connected to the internet, my blog is left idled. InshaAllah, in the days to come I will post some stories which I feel are reasonable to share.

Why?

Because sharing is caring!!

P/s: Its an eventful day. I’m just so excited that I my mind cannot generate words. The result was announced today and Alhamdulillah I manage to maintain it. Alhamdulillah I can connect to the internet after… ( a loooooong time) of interruption and Alhamdulillah my aunt has delivered her babies- the twins. Can’t wait to see them =)

Aunt's Wedding Day

Aunt's Wedding Day, Ipoh 2008.

Hello Mr. Prime Minister

I have no idea whether I should be happy with the news or not. Perhaps, because I do not follow the political issues that much. Yet again, I regret for not being able to cope because the issue of politics is not an issue which is specified for the politicians, but it is also an issue which public should take interest too. I have the responsibility of knowing about it. Hmm..

Along once said something to me regarding obeying a follower and I think what he meant was taken from these two sayings:

1. The Prophet s.a.w said:

“Seseorang muslim wajib mendengar dan taat, sama ada suka atau pun tidak. Melainkan apabila dia diperintah untuk melakukan maksiat. Bila dia diperintahkan untuk melakukan maksiat, tidak ada lagi istilah mendengar dan taat (dalam urusan maksiat tersebut.)” (Hadis Riwayat al-Bukhari, no. 2955)

2. Imam Abu Ja’afar ath-Thahawi rahimahullah berkata:

Wallahualam.

If I could talk to the new PM, perhaps one of the things which I want to suggest is to make every leader and politician learn and understand and apply the political structure and purposes brought by the Prophet s.a.w. He’s the best example.

Learning and knowing are two different things as learning has a deeper impact on a person because a person who learns is a person who absorbs the knowledge that he applies it in his life while knowing is only at a surface level where one ‘know’ as to know and takes it as an info. If the a knowledge is applied, then InshaAllah matters such as bribery and ‘pecah amanah’ won’t happen.

Hmm..amanah itself is wide enough to be discussed.

It’s good that one knows his ability but at the same time it is worrying that everyone seems like wanting a position so badly. If one is qualified, Alhmadulillah bagusla. Perintah dengan amanahNYA .

It makes me to wonder if people…we ever think of the questions which might be asked later, just as much as I am wondering  whether I’ve covered my duties thoroughly. Duties which no one gives but they are endowed (as a servant of Allah, the follower of Muhammad, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a student, a citizen etc.) Wallahualam.

Praying for the world

Assalamu’laikum and hi!

With the busy-ness approaching, I leave here lyrics of a song from Zain Bikha: Our World.

Hmm…how did I get to know about the song?

I happen to bump to it while I was browsing last week. The chorus is soothing and words use are simple that it makes the song suitable to all. Somehow parts of the lyrics gave deep meaning to me.

Enjoy!

Our World by Zain Bikha

Every morning on every news flash
I hear the sorrow of the world
It seems like everybody’s lost and
Scared trying to make sense of it all

And as I travel to and fro, so many faces pass me by
I see lonely hearts living lonely lives just biding their time
And while we call ourselves civilized, many people living empty lives
As they drone their way through day and night

Chorus

I pray for our world, I pray for every child
I pray for our world to be filled with smiles
Like the colours of a rainbow and not just black and white
I pray for our world to be filled with light
I pray for all of us, to choose the path that’s right
To believe in Allah every day of our lives

In the evening on the TV news, I see images of war.
I see brother killing brother with no consequence at all.
And while those who claim to be leaders, sell us tales of deceit.
But Allah alone know in their hearts what they reveal and conceal.
And while we call ourselves civilized,
We go on killing human lives

Too caught up in our own web of lies

Chorus

Every mother, every father, every daughter, every son
Don’t you see, that the answer lies only with the ONE

Notes:

I was thinking of uploading the song, apparently the connection was toooooo ssssllloooooowwwwWWwww. So, nothing is uploaded. *merajuk dengan internet*

Eksperimen Semut

My little sister has just turned 10 this month and at this age, she is now in standard 4, just like most other 10 year-old Malaysian children. Learning Science in school, Alhamdulillah, has developed her curiousity and also made her aware and understand certain concepts…. and she is quite active in conducting her ‘mini experimentSSSS’ at home.

Last weekend, she told me of an experiment which she conducted because of  her inquisitiveness.

LS-Little sister

BS-Big sister

LS: Kak, dosa tak kalau kite masukkan semut dalam air?

BS: huh? Kenapa masukkan semut dalam air?

LS: Macaaaaam niii. Haritu, LS masukkan sekor semut dalam air. LS nak tengok semut tu mati ke tak…macam mana paru-paru dia. Tapi bile LS masukkan dalam air, semut tu berenang.

BS: (I wanted to laugh but had to make a serious face) La..mestila semut tu berenang. Semut mana ada paru-paru, sebab dia bukan mcam manusia. Hmm…bayangkan ek. Kalau ada gergasi masukkan LS dalam air, ape LS buat? Mesti berenang jugakkan? Sebab nak selamat kan diri.

LS: Pastukan kak, bile LS tengok balik….semutr tu dah mati. Huhu (sambil tersengeh).

BS: Hmm… macam ni. Next time, think first. Rase-rase kalau boleh membunuh..jangan buat. Tak baik seksa binatang. Ingat tak cerita perempuan yang masuk neraka sebab seksa kucing die tue? Nak jadi mcam tue?

LS: Tak nak. Tapi LS tak tau..semut tu tiba-tiba mati…

BS: (erk..) Next time think first, ok?

LS: Ok. Semut takde paru-paru ek kak?

BS: Semut tak da paru-paru.(kalau ada mesti comel paru-paru tue..huhu)

That was one of her many stories which she shared during last weekend. Hehe.

My liltle sister…among the people who helps me to become a better person. XXX

The Moslem Stagnancy of Thought and Action by Kasmuri Selamat

Selamat Hari…

Assalamualaikum and Hi!

Since February I’ve been wanting to write an article about birthday.

Firstly, February is when the circulation of birthday of my family begins. It begins with my youngest bros’ birthday which is on 26th Feb. Then, 8th March is my youngest sis’s. Happy Burf-Day… or should it be Happy Burp-Day! Burp Burp… followed by Angah’s in April, Abah’s in May and Mama in June, Along’s in September and Mine…the last one.

Hadiah? Kakak bg kasih sayang yang tak terhingga.

And exciting enough that I’ve been waiting for Maulidur Rasul too, on 12 Rabiul Awwal, which happens to be around the two youngest sibling’s birthday this year. And made plan to celebrate it in IIU…Tukar suasana sket.

Last two weeks, while I was reading a book which I newly bought, I came across the Last Khutbah of the Prophet p.b.u.h. (Khutbatul Wada’ or The Last Sermon, The Farewell Sermon or Khutbah Terakhir). The one I read was in Malay but I guess it would be nice if I could find an English version and below is the sermon.

Together we read, together we remind ourselves ya? =)

O people

Lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefor listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and take these words to those who could not be present here today.

O people
Just as you regard this month, this day, this city as sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that He will indeed reckon your deeds. Allah has forbidden you to take usury (interest); therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity.

Allah has Judged that there shall be no interest and that all interest due to Abbas Ibn ‘Abd al Muttalib (the Prophet’s uncle) shall henceforth be waived.

Beware of Satan for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O people

It is true that you have certain rights in regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives, only under Allah’s trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat you women well and be kind to them, for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with anyone of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.
O people

Listen to me in earnest, worship Allah, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your wealth in Zakat.

Perform Hajj if you can afford to.

All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black, nor a black has any superiority over a white- except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim, which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not therefor, do injustice to yourselves.

Remember one day you will appear before Allah and answer for your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone. People, no prophet or apostle will come after me and no new faith will be born. Reason well therefore, O people, and understand words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the Quran and the Sunnah (Hadith), and if you follow these you will never go astray. All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listened to me directly. Be my witness, O Allah, that I have conveyed your message to your people.”

Sedih kan? =(

He left us with messages. Lots and lots of messages and reminders. Yet, we are too blind and deaf.

On 12 Rabiul Awwal too the Prophet breathes his last. When Umar got to know the news, he was stunned and almost lost conscious. Whereas Abu Bakar, he stepped forward trying to comfort Umar and delivered a speech to the public where he said:

“ And now, to he who worships Muhammad s.a.w (he should know that) Muhammad s.a.w is dead. But he who worships Allah, He is Ever Living and He never dies. Allah says:

Muhammad s.a.w is no more than a Messenger, and indeed (many) Messengers have passed away before him. If he dies or is killed, will you then turn on your heels (as disbelievers)? And he who turns back on his heels, not the least harm will he do to Allah, and Allah will give reward to those who are greatful.’” (Quran 3:144)

May we be among the believers who never turn our heels.

To love them even more

Assalamualaikum and Hi!!

While I was doing my parenting assignment, I came across this story. A story which I read few years ago and also touches my heart that it remains in me till now.

Enjoy!

Imam Zainul Abideen (Ali bin Hussain, the great-grandson of Prophet Muhammad): “It is also said that once a man came to the Holy Prophet Muhammad and asked: “I feed my parents, carry them on my back and clean them, have I fulfilled my duty towards them? The Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) answered: No, because, you are serving them in anticipation for their death while they served you wishing you a long life”.

Huhu. Let’s think again on how we treat our parents ya.

-praying harder everyday for them and for myself-

_____________________________________________________________

“And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him.  And that you be dutiful to your parentsIf one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honour.” (Quran 17:23)

“And lower unto them the wing of submission and humility through mercy, and say: ‘My Lord!  Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was small.’” (Quran 17:24)

Hadiah :)

Assalamualaikum and hi…

Its 14th February today, most couples and those who are in love may have been longing for this day to come as it is synonym with the “day of expressing love” or might as well very known as‘Valentine’s Day’.

How many of us do know the story behind the so-called lovely day?

Want to know about it? You can just google and there would be plenty of articles waiting to be read. And again, look for those which are reliable. And if you’re a Muslim, why don’t try to search in Islamic perspective because as far I am concern this so-called lovely day is not as lovely as it may seem. Try to search and see what you can find.

Love is not only celebrated by lovers but is also celebrated among friends. Like us. It is not necessary needed to be said but actions that we do could describe more than everything. Some of the ways are through mutual understanding, being supportive at all time, encouraging one another, being the shoulder to cry, giving advices etc. Loving a friend too does not mean we always have to agree on the same thing because as a normal human being, we have our own thoughts, thus we have different views and we have disagreements. Well, disagreements are disagreements. There’s always a solution to everything right? So, solve it.

Because of love too, a good friend and I had decided to take February as the month for us to exchange gifts. It has been 4 years now. Not that we celebrate Valentine’s but February is just so tempting with chocolates and pretty gifts, that’s why we choose the month. Girls like pretty cute things. =P

If the previous four years it would only be myself and a friend celebrating our friendship, which began from the first day of staying in Maktab, but this year we decided to invite another good friend to join our celebration that it makes us as three. And to my surprise, things are merrier when we have more good friends.

The trio celebration looks a bit special I guess. Why? Because I receive more gifts than I thought. WoW! Kenapa bg aku banyak-banyak ni? And one belated birthday present. THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! Love them. Really appreciate them. Ni yang makin sayang ni!!! Just like the Prophet s.a.w said, Exchange gifts, as that will lead to increasing your love to one another.” [Al-Bukhari].

Hmm..frankly, I don’t mind of the things you girls gave me. But since you have given me astonishing beautiful wonderful gifts, what else can I do but to take. Terharu ~ Hehehe. :P

Hmm..to me, its not about receiving the quantity of gifts nor how much it cost but giving it sincerely because you want your friends to have it /them. Because friendship IS about sincerity.

So…what’s for next year? Hehe. Perhaps we should invite more. More = Merrier =More Love. Hmm…more presents? Hehe.
